CFLs are the slightly cheaper alternative
to T5 lighting. Not good for the environment because the electronic
ballast is integrated with the tube and has to be discarded at the
same time as the tube fails. Also the inferior geometry of CFL (internal
tube) often means that more than 40% extra light output can be achieved
by linear T5 of the same power rating. For example, the 144w
EcoSlimLine Set will downlight the same area with as much useful
light as any 220w CFL and the 96w EcoSlimLine
Set will downlight a greater area with more useful light than
any 125w CFL. |
